Since we have added a new addition to our family, I thought it fitting to have a new journal. That way I can post about both kids at the same place. I will keep this site open as an archive site, just won't be updating it.

The new web journal will have password protected posts. Email me if you would like the password (nicolev911@yahoo.com).

The new site is located at: vkids.blogsome.com

I finally finished Alie's room so I thought I would take pictures of it to show. The only thing I haven't finished are the curtains and a few little details. The room still looks cute to me even without those few little things. I put the pictures in the album in order so they are kind of like a 360. I included picture of the closets because I finally got them all super organized. Can you tell I've been nesting LOL?

Here's a picture of the Fish pants that I painted for Alie. You can't tell, but there is glitter sprayed on them to make it look more like water.

There are also several pictures of Alie. I haven't taken any good ones in a while, so I took a few close ups and such. Also included one of Alie resting her chin on my belly. YOu can see how lopsided the baby is. He has his rear end poking out the left side :D

Alie had her first ballet class today. Here is a picture of her in her dance outfit. She had so much fun, but because she's 3, her attention span was quite short.

My ballerina

Compare my 30 wk. belly with my new 32 wk. belly picture. I dont think I've grown. My shirt hangs down more so it kinda looks like I did. I think the 32 wk. picture is my favorite one of me so far.

Well to honor being 30 weeks, I thought I should take a belly picture. I wanted to take one for 28 weeks, but that week flew by too quickly. Added previous pictures for comparison. For some reason I always seem to be wearing pink and black when I take my pictures.

Alie... can you see the bandy (band-aid) on her forehead? Her cut is healed but she insists that she still wears one.

Remember that Green and blue Monster fabric I posted in a pic a while back? Well I FINALLY made the pants! I used a pattern that was supposed to make them 6 mo. size, but figured they would end up a bit big, like 12 mo. size. Turns out, the pattern runs really huge.. they ended up size 3t almost 4t!! They fit Alie a bit big so she could even wear them next year hahaa! I hemmed them up by rolling it and was able to save the length so if I ever need to take them out, I can. I made them flood pants for Alie, since it's a bit more girly.

I feel bad that the pants I made specifically for Baby Boy will end up being a hand me down. Alie loves the print on them, so I know she will wear them. I guess there is a plus side... I'll get more use out of them than just one kiddo. Pictures of Alie wearing the pants are posted after the cut. By the way, the wooden short wall behind Alie is the wall I was talking about in our front yard. It makes a great picture backdrop because it blocks out the street and cars :D

I'm also posting pictures of my belly at 26w1d. Including the picture of me at 22w0d. I think I have grown a bit.

I'm posting 6 pics all together, so sorry if it runs slow!

We had a great easter. Went to church but got there 30 minutes late, oops! It was my fault because I went to bed late and just couldn't wake up in the morning.

After church we went to my grandma's house for easter lunch and the egg hunt. The lunch was awesome!! My favorite holiday meal is my grandma's easter one.

After lunch was the easter egg hunt. Since the weather was pretty hot (got up to 88) all the mini candy bars that were sprinkled in the yard were all melted. Alie wouldn't pick them up because they squished out of their wrappers if you didn't grab them delicately. Then the eggs were starting to melt. Well, some of the dye on them was melting off. So all the kids ended up with rainbow colored hands. It was pretty humerous. I was dying of the heat so poor Alie only found 12 eggs while everyone else gathered 20+. I shouldn't have worn 2 shirts, well tank top and blouse.

Best thing of all, Alie stayed dry the whole day! I put a diaper on her because I was so afraid she would have an accident w/ all the excitement. Plus I didn't want to ruin her silk dress from Jack and Janie. To my amazement, she told me when she needed to go, depsite the diaper. Such a big girl!!

Here are the pictures I took:

The weather here has been crazy! It got to 91 degrees! Normally we dont hit the 90s until June. It is supposed to reach as high as 95 on Monday. Can we say GLOBAL WARMING??? It was hotter here today than Florida.

I finally cut Alie's hair. Kind of on a whim, but it was just getting too stringy and would tangle easily when wet. I'm not sure if I really like it, it'll take a bit to get used to it. She hasn't had this short of hair since she was 18 months old!

I also took a picture of the hairbows I made for my friends girls. The material that I am going to make Baby Boy's pants out of is in the pic as well. Pictures behind the cut :)

Oh I also wanted to mention, Alie wore her big girl panties all day today. Even when we went to walmart for 2 hours. She let me know when she had to go so got to experience going in a public restroom. So much fun trying to squeeze her and me w/ my big ol preggy belly in a stall. She stayed dry all day. No accidents since Monday!

Well I finished Alie's dress! This is by far the most complicated item I have ever sewn. It's a tad big on her, but it fits well enough she can wear it this year and next. I left enough fabric in the bottom hem to take it out if need be. I love it and I am so excited that I finished it. I'm bad at starting creations and not finishing for years. Thankfully, I don't have any unfinished projects to date. Picture behind the cut :)

Alie was playing Cowgirl the other day. Apparently the St. Patty's hat was her cowboy hat. She also put on the dog's hankerchief. It was pretty cute :)

I'm 20 weeks today! Half down, half to go! I really think it will fly by. I'm not too happy about that because I actually like being pregnant. I am just going to enjoy every minute of it while I can.

We still haven't discussed names. I brought up the subject almost every day, but he doesn't want to talk about it. I don't know why he's so anti name choosing. I am going to make a list, like I did when we chose Alie's name. Hopefully he will pick one that way.

Alie already has her name chosen for the baby. She is very adamant about it. I just can't share it because it is a name I really like as well. Thank goodness she has good taste ;)

Here are my one and only set of sono pictures! The tech I had was so awesome! She answered every question I had and told me about everything she was looking at. She also printed out a ton of pictures. She made a point to take a good front face and profile picture. I got so lucky this time around!

My husband was proud how Baby Boy's parts were the same size as his hands, LOL! Typical!

The balloon looking thing above him is my placenta (its located right under my belly button). The tech told me I was having a contraction at the time. It lasted about 5 min. but I didn't feel a thing. Funny lil guy had himself all crammed up by my placenta when I had plenty of room down below.

I've finally taken some photos of Alie. My camera is such a battery sucker that I've already gone through 4 batteries and only took 30 pics!! Crappy!

Laying down

Alie has been working on writing her numbers and letters in her new dry erase preschool workbook!! This is her FIRST attempt!! I was so amazed!!

Her first "Dot to Dot Ducky" :) She did have help by me pointing which two dots to connect.

Duck

More Alie funnies:
Today I was laying in bed with Alie just having some good conversation. This is what she told me about her "Let's go fishin'" game and playing with Brittany. "Brittany cheated, she was picking up the fish like this (with thumb and first finger). Then she cooked all of my fish on the stove. That's so RUDE!" As far as the cooking, she was talking about her play kitchen. Apparently Alie doesn't like her 25 tiny little fish being cooked up.

She loves me...

I caught Alie singing a song she made up. Made me the happiest momma in the world!! She was singing "Mommy is my favorite, I love mommy the most (repeat)". Luckily her Daddy didn't hear her, I would have felt so bad. Even though she has her daddy's girl moments, she made up for it :P.

When I heard her singing that, I dropped to my knees and immediately hugged and kissed her. Told her that was the nicest thing she has ever said to me. Hearing your child say things like that, unprompted, makes all the naughty things they ever did, disappear instantly. It makes being a mom totally worth it!!

P.S. and yes, I'm still feeling guilty for the big time out she had for breaking the TV, but then it dried and wasn't broken. I guess the time out was worth it in the long run because she has yet to question my authority since then. If I mention time out or anything punishment wise, she doesn't argue, back talk, or continue being naughty. She immediately does what I say. Yay for that!! OH and she accidentally spilt a little apple juice on the table today. I walked into the room and she was cleaning it up with a napkin as fast as her little arms could clean. Another proud beaming momma moment!! She's listening to me, Hallelujah!!

Two more funny things she said today:

I asked her to get me a blanket off her bed (yeah I was being lazy). She huffs, "Give me a break!" She did go get it for me despite her distaste.

She wanted some yogurt for snack. I tell her to grab a straw while I was getting the yogurt. She cheerfully says "Comin' right up!"

I'm so bored and think I've begun the nesting syndrome. I want to shop so badly. I also been going through cleaning and organizing spurts. Too bad I didn't feel like that today. Today I was just bored.

I took Alie swimming again. We brought her floatie swim suit and I let her try that out for a while. She swam on her own for 15 min.!! Of course I always stayed within arms reach. I'm just so proud that she was swimming around the pool, like a doggie as she says. She was even brave enough to jump in the pool w/o me catching her. She'd go completely underwater and everything!

When we got home from swimming, the neighbors across the street had a car in the driveway and was honking his horn. Alie turned towards them and yelled "Would you knock it off!?"

Thursday, February 16, 2006

I finally took Alie swimming today. She had a blast. She has become better in the water, holding her breath and such. She even jumped into the water, into my arms. She hasn't taken swim lessons since last spring, but surprisingly, she remembers some of it.

We also embellished one of her swim suits. It was a plain lavender with a skirt. No decoration, no design... just blah boring. She hated it because it was so boring. It also fit her poorly. The straps crossed in the back, but were way too long, so it showed her nipples. So to fix that problem, I cut the straps and made it be able to tie into a halter. For the embellishments, I had her choose the flowers to go on the suit and an iron on. She chose matching lavendar flowers and purple irridecent butterflies. I sewed the butterflies on insted of iron, so that way the wings would be loose, like fluttering. The suit turned out really pretty and she now loves it! Once I get some batteries for my camera, I'll post a pic.

the beating of your heart :D
One more funny from Alie...

I asked her what her heart says. She put her hand over her heart and said "Hicky Honk!!!" I have no idea where she got that from, but she has replied with that answer a few times today. Plus, she says it so casually, like it's a fact.
Cracks me up!!!

Monday, February 13, 2006

I had a really horrible night with Alie on Sunday. I went to bed at 4am, insomnia got the best of me. Then apparently after I passed out, Kriss accidentally woke Alie up when he was getting ready for work. So he put her in bed with me. She kept rolling around and moving, so woke me up at about 5am. I asked her what her problem was and she replied "This pillow is too hard."

I put her back in her bed, since it had better pillows. ;) Then she proceeded to yell or fake cry every 20 minutes. I went in there, trying to talk her into sleeping. She told me she wanted to get up (at 6am) and watch cartoons. I told her that because it was still dark out, that the cartoons were still asleep, they weren't on yet. She looked at me and told me matter-of-factually "Cartoons don't have a bed!!" She did eventually go to sleep, at 7 am.

Anyway, random funny things she has said to me lately...

She was carrying around something that she had tucked partially in the side of her pants. After asking what it was, she patted it with pride and said, "It's a hundred bucks!!" Turns out it was an advertisement magnet, but did have money on it.

We've been asking her where her body parts and internal organs are. Kriss asked her where her brain was and she said "I don't know, it's lost."

She was watching a little animated icon on LJ. She asks me "What is that? A monkey or a little guy? Which ones??" Then proceeds to explain "He's yelling like he has bugs in his mouth". It was a domokun icon :O)

Oh she makes chocolate pies now. Actually, it's just empty stackable tupperware, but she has them all stacked up in her baby stroller. She pushes it around and tries to sell these invisible chocolate pies to Kriss and I. The price of these delicacies.... $100 bucks.

Smart girl...
I had Alie work on a preschool workbook today and she did surprisingly well. It is made for a 4 year old, but I thought I might see if she could do some of the work sheets. She did so well that we completed half the book! I'm so proud of her!! I really didn't think she would understand half of the stuff. She even knew what was greater and lesser. She started loosing interest when we got to the "compare the first sounds" section. Example: out of Monkey, Tree, Mouse, which two have the same sound? She wasn't quite getting it.

She told me today that she wants to go to school to be with friends, BUT she is not potty trained. We've tried everything in the book, every single method in existence. She is just too laid back and stubborn to want to train. Her best friend trained right after turning 2. Alie could care less. She will go when her friend says she has to go, but she doesn't see this friend nearly enough to get trained. The good news is... I am going to watch said friend for a week or two come next month, so Alie may become trained! I really hope she will follow her friends example and just do it. Al really is a brilliant girl and knows how to go in the potty, she currently just doesn't care enough. Guess it's not in her priorities ;) I'm not really worried about it though, I know kids who didn't train until they were 4! I mean they still wore diapers. They were just WAY too stubborn lol!! It's funny how someone so small can have so much control over mom and dad (that m&d can't really do anything about).

What did she say?
Alie was reading the "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" book to me today. Her version of reading it is asking me what it is, and I say I dunno. Then she tells me "it's a blue horse" or whatever. When we got to the teacher page, I said "I dunno" and she kept saying this phrase over and over, and it was the same thing every time. I couldn't understand her though. So I said "its a teacher" and she said "no, its a .....". I still couldnt understand her.

So after the 5th time of her reading it to me, when we got to the teacher page, I FINALLY understood what she was calling the lady. She told me "It's a Peggy Hill!" OMG! I died laughing!! This maybe only funny to me, but I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. She just kept telling me "It's a Peggy Hill!!" If you go look at the book, she is right, it does resemble Peggy.

I'll try to post picture comparisons as soon as my dang camera works :)

When Alie grows up...
She told me today that she wants to be a Rock Star. I asked her how she was going to be one and she pointed towards her keyboard piano. I asked her if she was talking about the piano and she said "Yup, I want to be a Rock Star!" LOL!!! I wished her good luck.
