I WON I WON I WON!

WOOHOO! I won the "Sneak a roos" from Today's Give Away! From my entry for posting it on my blog. How awesome is that! Funny thing is, Xan has recently grown out of his shoes so I've been looking for new ones to buy. This saves me from having to buy a navy pair. Yes!

I'm back in school...

I am officially enrolled in college once again! I'm so excited. I will be taking 3 classes, online. Since I probably can't quit my job at the PO till sept or oct. I will be taking Fundamentals of Algebra (cause I can't remember any math from school), English Comp. 2, and Western Civ. 2. I'm excited about the WC2 because I've been so interested in European history lately. Wish me luck that I can pass with good grades.

I've learned that even though I want to do pre-med, they don't have an "official" pre med bach. degree, so I kind of have to fudge it. Basically, I'll graduate with some kind of business degree, or anything I want, but I have to take all the required science and math classes. TONS of science classes, which is ok. I'm a bit nervous about them, but hopefully I'll do ok.

sewing bug

Help! I'm addicted to sewing lately and I can't stop! :P In the past 2 weeks I've made the following for Miss A: white swing top blouse w/ flower pin, navy capris, khaki 2 layer ribbon skirt, and a navy full-gathered-skirt jumper. Boring colors I know, but since she has to wear uniforms this year, I thought I'd try to fancy up the drab wardrobe with some of my own creations. They are all very simple and I guess you could say contemporary styled. I don't like a lot of "fluff". I reworked the store bought patterns almost completely though. All in the vain effort to create cleaner, internal, seams. Sad thing is, yes it looks really sharp, but no one can tell how much work you put into it. Not like some fancy stitch work that totally shows off. Nope, it's all hidden away inside the garment. That's ok, I did it to give A a bit more comfort because she hates itchy gathered seams.

I also made another sling. Pink, green and yellow big flowers. Totally girly to carry around that sweet Miss S. All my slings that I made for X are too big anyway. Woohoo!

New babies!

I'd been having baby cravings, but thankfully my friends are kind enough to have babies and let me hang out with them. Phew! Saves me from the trouble. :P

Today was the first day of watching one of my friends two little girls. A's best friend B, and the new one, Miss S, who is 3 weeks old. I just love having them over. I will be watching S full time during the school year, so I get to watch her grow up. I swear this is better than having my own. I get to send her home for the evening. :D

My other friend, who's baby K is now 3 mo. old, is just cute as a button. She is my Godchild, my first. :D Even though I'm not catholic, who cares! She is getting so chunky and has the sweetest smile. It'll be great once S is big enough, since the girls are close in age, I can take her over to play with K.

Pokekids

Both of my kids are obsessed with pokemon. So for X's 3rd birthday (yesterday), we gave him mostly pokemon themed toys. He was ecstatic.

My husband thought it would be funny to photoshop the kids into a pokemon picture, just a cut and paste onto a poster type design. Then we printed it out in 4x6 for them. They both totally got a kick out of it. It gave me an idea though. Both kids are forever pretending to be their favorite pokemon characters. So I thought, why not take the photoshop thing one step farther and turn them into that fav. character?

I created "Xantle" after Squirtle and "Alisew" after Mew. I printed them a picture each of their character. A thought they were the funniest thing in the world. She laughed for almost an hour. Even went to bed giggling. :D That just makes a mama's day. Course I feel bad for "one upping" my husband, but I couldn't help it.

X wants to go to cool

I bought A some animal hair clips for valentines day. Yesterday, she wore the blue hippo ones in her hair. As she was climbing out of the car, X yells to her "Bye Sissy! Bye Hippo!" I guess he noticed. :P

X has a new desire for going to school. He plays dress up and has been wearing his sister's old pink hello kitty back pack around the house and everywhere we go. He tells me constantly "I go to cool too." He wakes up from his morning nap and must get dressed, shoes on, hair brushed, and completes the outfit with that pink backpack. He will then tell me from that point until we go pick up A that he needs to go to "cool". Poor thing, I try to tell him that he has to wait till he is 3. At least he has fun playing that he is going. To see the excitement on his face when I finally tell him it's time to go to "cool" to pick up A... that's the best part. It'll be a sad day when I have to let him go off to kindergarten too. Heck, even preschool will be rough.

still painting

Nothing new to report. I am STILL painting A's room. I finally have the right shades of green and blue. So I can get to work and get it done. I've finished the blue this evening. Now for the green. It'll require furniture movement, so it will take longer. I will post pictures once I'm done.

How is it that my body seems to be getting older than my age? I'm breaking down ack! First off, we've got the crohn's. Now my hip ligament is killing me and it seems to only swell up goose egg size (as seen under the skin) which only happens during Aunt Flo's visit. Then this week, because of the ligament, I was taking laundry to the laundry room and limping, so then I ended up kicking the the island and breaking the pinkie toe. Fabulous. What's next?

There are other things that have happened because of recent events but it's way too humiliating to write down. So now I'm in the process of trying to reanalyze the way I work my schedule and find something that works for me and 100% reliable.

I'm not sure if the new meds are working? It takes about an hour to kick in. I could probably take a nap while on them if I tried. The one side effect I have definitely seen, it takes away all sense of hunger. I have not felt hungry once in the last 4 days. I just eat because I know I should. When the meds first kick in though, I can't eat at all because the thought alone grosses me out. My stomach also doesn't growl if I have forgotten to eat all day, as what happened the first day. So I'll just have to pay attention and at least eat small amounts to make sure I'm eating what I'm supposed. It's crazy, all this time I've wanted something to help make the hunger go away, now that I have it, I'll have to readjust and remember.

Order or some semblance

Well both sets of the kids ornaments have been ordered. I already have X's but it sucks that I can't put them up till next year. Oh well. A's should arrive any day now. I still haven't ordered the pearl one but must before it starts running over $30 average. Yuck. I've seen some go for 50.

Life has been just same ol same ol. I'm trying very hard to get back to the old schedule, before my dec. schedule. It's hard to go to bed earlier. My body is still having a hard time only sleeping 8 hours. It WANTS so badly to have 10 a night or more. I guess it all caught up with me because today I slept 11. Even with meds it's not making the difference. So I guess I'm just a freak and must sleep more than the average person? I hate it because it feels like I'm wasting life.

My house organization/rearranging is almost complete. I finished my dining room. Have 3 organized areas in it now. Dining, that we never use so it's just decoration. My art area which I LOVE! I moved 3 unused dressers in to house my supplies and it works so much better. Looks better too. I love having the sunlight to boost my lighting. I also love the computer area. It feels like a little nook or something.

X and A's rooms are done as far as organizing and rearranging. I like how it works now, but I still hate the ugly shabby barbie house in A's room. I want to build one in the bottom of her closet. That way I can also close the door and it will house the eye sore LOL! Plus I'm wanting to put a full size desk in there for her use. She loves to craft too... wonder where she gets that from? Her small kids desk does not cut it, what so ever. She's taken to using her bed as part desk and colored on her white sheets. Grr!

Now for the bedroom. I still need to move our massive brown cabinet thing from the living room to our room. I need to paint our room first so I don't have to move the cabinet back and forth. Just need to get the willpower to paint first. We are also wanting to sell our bed and buy a new frame, smaller than the old one. It's just too massive and takes up like 5 extra feet in frame alone. If anyone wants it, it's on craigslist! Posted Here.

So I really need to get on the ball with painting. Need to finish A and X's rooms, and do ours. The living is almost finished. I chose flat paint and I'm slightly regretting because it's a dark color, it shows any scratch or mark. I'm going to have to put a sealant or something on it. So it will wipe clean easily.

Phew, I'm tired just writing that all out. Now I need to just get to work!

Chantel reminded me

Thinking of ornaments.... I need to buy A's "Fairy Messenger" ornaments, last year and this year. I also wanted X to have the "Santa's sweet ride" series, so I need to buy last year and this year too. See my mom said she wanted the tradition of buying their ornament, bought Alison 2 years worth, then quit. So I guess it's left up to me to continue it.

I also found one I really love that my grandma would have absolutely loved. This ornament is totally her. She loved christmas, white, ornaments, and pearls. So I MUST get it! Always Remembered"

more change

I've been needing change lately. Selling the couch may have started something! With the empty space in our living room, it has given me room to move things around. So I've come up with a plan to rearrange some of the bigger furniture in our house to hopefully give us some extra room or at least a new purpose. My dining room is now like 3 rooms in one. I moved my craft area to the window area. Moved the dining table (that we don't use) next to the wall (perpendicular to the china cabinet) so it's the first thing you see when you walk in the room. Then I moved X's changing table, which is actually a roll top desk, to where my craft desk area used to be. As pictured, it's past life served me very well. It was the BEST changing station I could have ever asked for, used for both kids.

Now the changing table has a new purpose. Closer to what it was originally intended to be used for. Instead of writing, it's now the computer desk. I think it looks nice and it works well to fit all of our gadgets. Ignore the mess to the left, my craft towers need to be cleaned up, my project tomorrow.
